Bay Area Medal Winners at the Great American Beer Festival


Congratulations to all the Bay Area brewers who won medals at the Great American Beer Festival held by the Brewers Association in Denver over the weekend. Despite the recession, the GABF attracted 3,308 entries, 16% more than last year. Colorado won the most medals with 45, while California brewers won 39 medals.
Bay Area breweries winning medals were:
Gold:
Racer 5 IPA, from Bear Republic (Cloverdale), in the American-Style Strong Pale Ale category.
Sara's Ruby Mild, from Magnolia Gastropub & Brewery (San Francisco), in the English Style Mild Ale category.
Pt. Reyes Porter, from Marin Brewing Co. (Larkspur), in the Robust Porter category.

Silver:
Denogginizer, from Drake's Brewing Co. (San Leandro) in the Imperial India Pale Ale category.
San Quentin's Breakout Stout, from Marin Brewing Co., in the Foreign Style Stout category.
Red Rock, from Triple Rock Brewery and Alehouse (Berkeley) in the American Style Amber/Red Ale category.

Bronze:
Diesel Imperial Smoked Porter, from 21st Amendment Brewery (San Francisco) in the Smoked Beer category.
Supplication, from Russian River Brewing Co. (Santa Rosa), in the Belgian-Style Lambic or Sour Ale category.
Blind Pig IPA, from Russian River Brewing Co., in the American-Style India Pale Ale category.
